![]() Long story short, she had the baby aborted and lied to me about it, and on top of that she had been seeing her ex (her sons father) for the last 5 months and that she had gotten the abortion because he wanted her too and that she had been thinking of leaving and going back to him. But about 3 months later I just happened to be awake and overheard a conversation she had with her best friend from the other room. But what can you do? So after that she continued to stay with me, I continued to support her son. about 4 months into the term, I was out of town at work and I got a call from her saying she had to go to the hospital and miscarried. I did much the same thing you did, Worked extra hard built up a savings, put all my stuff in storage and started shopping for a bigger house, put a ring on her finger etc. I went through the normal motions of terrified, to excited. ![]() Just a gut feeling plus all of the timing lined up. I knew when it happened, and I knew it was mine. I was 25 and had a really nice job and life was going good.įast forward towards the end of the relationship, She comes to me one day and tells me that she's preggers. It wasnt really an issue, I liked the kid and kind of adopted him as my own. I had been dating my ex for about 2 years, she had a son from another man prior to us dating. Well similar in the fact that it involved a shady woman. I cut the hospital a check for $300 for the wall, called a cab and laid in bed for the next 3 weeks calming my nerves with Jack Daniels. Next thing I remember I was having a cigarette outside getting questioned for punching a hole in the wall of the nursery. I ended up asking my ex about an hour after she settled into her new bed in the hospital. I knew I'd have to call my friends and family and tell them the supposed mother of my child was a cheating whore. I was sitting in the room knowing the doctors and nurses were judging me. It was a completely outofbody experience. I tasted nothing but charcoal and smelled nothing but sulphur. Not that I could tell from the physical characteristics (though it was kind of obvious) but instinct told me something was wrong immediately. As soon as I saw the child I knew it wasn't mine. ![]() I noticed he had a rather dark pigment (i'm olive so it wasn't that unexpected). ![]() I entered shortly after the child was born. I'm going to sleep now but I'll update any new questions tomorrow morning! I've got an Inbox completely full of inspiring messages that I'm printing off so I can read them when I get down. Haven't had the opportunity to tell my side without feeling shameful. Just wanted to thank the reddit community, this has been really therapeutic for me. I'm going to go have a smoke now, I'll be updating this through the night. If a mod could PM me that would be swell.ĮDIT*** this is a throwaway account. I don't really know how to provide proof, my brother is a reddittor who can co-sign for me. I fell into a deep depression afterwards, went to rehab and was hospitalized for mental heath reasons. The incident that occurred changed me as a person. Kind of a difficult subject to talk about for me but I thought it would be rather therapeutic to share and there seemed to be a general interest. Like the title states, I'm a 23 year old white male and when I was 21 my girlfriend at the time (who I thought I had impregnated) gave birth to a black baby.
